Information for Investigators

Consultation with the PCRC administration and core directors including genetic, bioanalytical, behavioral-phenotyping, bionutrition, biostatistical, informatics and research subject advocate is encouraged prior to the submission of a research protocol. PCRC staff is available to consult on biostatistical considerations as well as development of assays, database design, research nutrition and patient safety monitoring.

Interested investigators should complete a PCRC project Application Form. Questions about the application or the review process may be discussed with the Administrative Director, Kerstin Hildebrandt at Tel. 202-884-3584.

The PCRC application form, proposed budget, study protocol and the completed IRB application should be submitted to the PCRC administration office at least two weeks prior to the Advisory Committee meeting date. Incomplete applications can not be reviewed and will be returned to the investigator. The PCRC Administration and GCRC Advisory Committees (GAC) will review the complete application for scientific merit and approval of GCRC resources. The review process takes approximately two to four weeks. It is recommended that an investigator apply for the use of the PCRC at about the same time the protocol is being reviewed by the IRB. Investigators seeking approval form both the CNMC and GU IRB may contact their respective IRB offices for information regarding the joint approval process. IRB approval is required before the investigator can activate the protocol on the unit.

You may contact the PCRC administrative office at 202-884-3584 or click here to download the Application Form.
