Acknowledgment of GCRC in Publications

Publications are the most important indicator of the GCRC’s productivity and are taken into account in assessing cost-effectiveness. Also, publications are often used to support reports to the Director of the NIH and to Congress, and we can only take credit of those publications that cite the grant by number or explicitly acknowledge GCRC support. Therefore, it is extremely important that our GCRC grant is cited or the GCRC contribution is explicitly acknowledged in all publications arising from studies that used any GCRC resources (e.g., Patient Care, Space, Biostatistics Core support, Genetics Core support, Neurobehavioral and Psychosocial Evaluation Core (NPEC) support, Research Subject Advocacy (RSA) support, Bionutrition support) at any time.

If you are publishing the results of research supported by the Children’s National Medical Center GCRC, please be sure to acknowledge the GCRC in your publication. This acknowledgment will impact our funding and our ability to support your future research.

The following two statements are examples that can be used when citing the GCRC grant:

"This publication was made possible by Grant M01RR020359 from the National Center for Research Resources (NCRR), a component of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Its contents are solely the responsibility of the authors and do not necessarily represent the official views of NCRR or NIH."

OR

"The project described was supported by Grant M01RR020359 from the National Center for Research Resources (NCRR), a component of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Its contents are solely the responsibility of the authors and do not necessarily represent the official views of NCRR or NIH."
